Benza
Benza

Manufacturer Info:
Benza is a design driven manufacturer of home and office accessories. The project was initiated in 1996 by industrial designer Giovanni Pellone and graphic designer Bridget Means, who had already shared a design consultancy for several years.

While disenchanted with the lowest common denominator results of market driven design, Pellone and Means also saw the traditional concerns for form and function as a given. They thought objects should acknowledge the increasing complexity and intellectual knowledge of our society, be more than just pretty and useful.

Today, Benza’s collection includes a multitude of everyday objects that are more of a commentary on our daily lives than a solution to our problems. While blurring the boundaries between art and design, these objects intend to induce reflection, seduce, demand interaction, entertain, evoke affection.

The work of a fast growing, multicultural group of designers, Benza’s products have been featured in the world’s most prominent design publications and appeared in major design exhibits worldwide, including the first National Design Triennial entitled “Design Culture Now” at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, “Workspheres” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and “US Design” at The Denver Art Museum.
