Janet Torelli, a self-taught sterling silver tableware designer, finds inspiration in the architectural and organic forms that surround her. She resides in Chicago, an especially fertile source of design ideas.
Faced with the mundane prospect of olives speared on toothpicks or cheap plastic spikes, she began to create sterling martini picks, soon followed by a complementary line of serving utensils. She arrives at her graceful shapes using traditional techniques of filing, soldering, bending and polishing.
